Eugene A. Greco, is well known in the music community. He has been teaching at Miami Dade College since 1981 and he presently holds the rank of Full Professor there, where he teaches music and humanities classes and directs the Kendall Campus College Choir/Community Chorus. Over the years he has served as music director/choir director/organist at various churches, including St. Mary’s Cathedral, St. Thomas Roman Catholic Church, Concordia Lutheran Church and St. Philip’s Episcopal Church and also taught at both seminaries in Miami and Boynton Beach for the Archdiocese of Miami. From 1993-1995 he held the position as visiting Professor in Music and Liturgy at the Pontifical North American College in Vatican City.
He has brought choirs on tour many times and has performed for papal audiences for the late Pope John Paul II, and has performed on numerous occasions as organist, chorister and choir director at St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome. He has performed with the Mostly Baroque Players, a period ensemble, as a harpsichordist. Dr. Greco is a member of the American Guild of Organists and served a two year term as the Dean of the Miami Chapter. He belongs to many professional organizations including the Music Educator’s National Conference, Florida Music Educators, National Association of Pastoral Musicians, American Choral Directors Association and the College Music Society. He is active in the arts community and is an avid concert goer.
